GIG 09/03/12 - London
Come see us live at The Hoxton Pony this coming Friday!!
Peeeace!
Gig review!!!
The wickedly wicked e-zine Never Enough Notes reviewed our recent gig at The Kings Head and we're rather kind with their choice of words - check it out...
http://www.neverenoughnotes.co.uk/wordpress/2012/03/too-many-ts-the-kings-head-islington-01-03-12/
"Songs that stood out in my lager-soaked memory were ‘Rescue Me’, which demonstrates a flow that makes Mos Def sound like he’s got a speech impediment, and ‘Plum Jam’, which will have a music video at some point. Bearing in mind they filmed their last two music videos in Morocco, we can expect something ambitions, and probably quite surreal.
During the gig Leon Rhymes and Standalofts’ onstage chemistry is both entertaining and engaging, resulting in a room full of laughter, dancing, and very excited women (move over guitarists, emceeing is the new babe-magnet)."
Do what he says and come see us live!! We're playing 09.04.12 // London // Mother Live // 333 Mother Live
See ya thurrr hopefully x
Tom Clements gives us some props!!!!
Yo!!
The awesome UK Hip Hop blog www.tomclementsuk.com gives our New Sound Era video some props!!
'A wizard blend of flows, fun and funk' - we need to use this in our press release!
Big ups yo!
DJ Sneaks #20 - Too Many T's
Some lovely linguistics from the fine gents OLI D.A.B. & ROBIN
Check out their introduction and listen to our very own Mr Biscuits' exclusive hip hop mix insoired by our favourite tracks as well!!!
"Too Many T's.... aka Ross Standaloft and Leon Rhymes are two lovable cheek mongers of an Emcee duo. After forming in the summer of 2011, Too Many T's have been gaining attention from all directions with their tight but tongue in cheek take on rap all laid down over real sounding funk and Sesame street soul influenced hip hop beats. Check out the below video for their track "Medina life" to get an example of this if my use of descriptives above has left you a little lost. The video recorded in on the streets of Marrakesh last Spring and released in December it definitely gives you an idea of what the boys are about."
Nice eh!!? ...."two lovable cheek mongers of an Emcee duo" - Classico!
Here's Medina Life in case you aint seen it yo....
And catch the mix and more of the write up here:

'Hip hop electro wonderkids'
Soooooo!
Its been a massively entertaining few weeks in the T house with gigs agwarn, recording sessions and interest from names people have heard of!
Strangest gig has t go to Bar Music Hall in Shoreditch...now this is a lovely place, did I know it did live music? Definitely not. And by the way the night went the owners didn't seem to either! But they do nonetheless, with a decent stage and system in tow... We'd been looking forward to the gig and after being hotly tipped on the flyer as the 'hip hop electro wonderkids' there were a few folk in there looking forward to see us, not least the wonderful chaps from Goodfibres who'd come down to support us donning their lovely garms!
Sooo why was it weird...
The first band Laurie Nicoll were wicked, a really sweet sound, nice look, beautiful voice and a couple of really honest earcatching tracks; the second band were my idea of hell and after 30 seconds they'd put me in a bad mood. After 3 tracks, and by now clearing out a good crowd the bar owners told them they'd had enough and pulled the plug. OFF. The third band Blowtorch Ponies were a lot better and I was actually enjoying it, the singer had a great voice and the band were playing good tracks - but the owners didn't like it! And after the 3rd track, whilst the lead singer/guitarist was swapping guitars the venue pulled the plug again. OFF.
The venue then decided enough was enough and there was gonna be no more live music - they cancelled our show! Sooo armed with that charm offensive we had to persuade the manager to let us on - telling him we were nothing like the other bands, we'll entertain the crowd and that we had people who'd come specially to see us...Guess what - they let us play!
After eventually getting on stage we got a big crowd to gather, who danced and smiled their way through the show and were asking for more at the end.... The bar staff were even caught enjoying it :-)
Thanks everyone for watching and thanks Bar Music Hall for letting us onto the stage...eventually lol!
We've been in the studio this week with the truly lovely and massively talented Robert Strauss of Wax Recording Studio. We laid down the vocals to 2 new tracks, one accompanied by the beautiful voice of Sebastian Blake - can't wait to get them mastered and released, think we might do an EP!
We followed it up with an awesome gig at Vibe Bar and looking forward to playing there again :-)
Coming this week we're supporting Sylvia Stone and The Pandas @ Paper Dress Vintage in Shoreditch 08/02/12 after playing at 333 Mother Live 06/02/12...
Hope ya can come out and play :-)
x

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Blimey o riley it feels like an age since we last wrote an update! Perhaps that little festive Christmas thing and New Year had something to do with it? Or the endless ‘lets go for a drink, come on it’s christmas’ and ‘another chrtistmas party’? Or perhaps we’ve been mad busy with NEW SHIT!!! Probably a bit of everything
Whatever, it’s been a while...
Things have been cooking up good though! (There's a storm in my kitchen what am I gonna do!?)
We narrowly missed out on MTV’s brand new for 2012
BUT they gave us a great review – “The word infectious doesn’t do justice to this intense rush of a track. The energy and aggression of the two man vocal team makes this synth-heavy track a really hot prospect. BIG!"
Can’t complain at that! Thanks everyone for voting, the support we got was unbelievable!!
We’re still working on the video for 1992 – be ready though, when it drops it’s gonna drop, as Conrad the Scoundrel would say, HARD
And gigs are plenty on the horizon – next up Jan 26th @ Bar Music Hall in Shoreditch
Come on down!!!
And to summarise... you're best to check out our first piece of stupidity for 2012, the first episode in the Tea Room with our fresh T-shirts from www.goodfibres.com
Massive props to Philph E Burbs - LEGEND!
Big glove as always x

TOO MANY T'S LAUNCH PARtY 05.12.11
BeauTiful bounTiful
After too many meetings, too many lists, too many jams, too many studio sessions, too many late nights, too many phone calls and too many emails Too Many T’s officially LAUNCHED!!!!
YES WE DID!
To a full house at the brilliant 333 Mother Live in Shoreditch we had a funday monday Bez wouldve been proud of. Hosted by WiLD presents and supported by the beautiful sounds of Alena 'Brown Girl', the funk sensations of Isobel and the Cherry Stones and the super talented and uber professional The Ruby Kid we had an absolutely blinding night.
We want to say a massive thank you to all these guys, without them the night wouldn’t have happened, let alone been the success it was. The biggest love, hugs and cups of Tea go out to you and we look forward to returning the favour one day.
A special mention to our T-shirt gods @ Goodfibres for donning us in some super sick, fresh, ethical T's for the night.
And everyone who came down to enjoy the show – a massive thank you to you!! We’ve been working really fookin hard to get here and your ongoing support makes it all worthwhile...It was a Monday after all and you come out in force – we really appreciate it.
We love performing and to do that we need a crowd, you never disappoint!

Did someone say Logo???
The genius that is the wonderful Flyingmachines have designed our new logo!!! I think we're still doing it an injustice by putting it on the highest shelf, I am pretty short though. It should definitely be higher.
Massive thanks to Caspar Williamson at Flyingmachines who just last week had his first book 'Reinventing Screenprinting' published and is on sale @ www.printclublondon.com. BIG!
CHECK THIS OUT!!!!

BANG! Too Many T's are TAKE OFF!!!
It’s been a while coming - but the time has now finally arrived!
After months of recording sessions, boozin, shooting videos, emptying tobacco pouches, too many lists, undercover gigs and generally just squirreling away... Too Many T's are ready to launch!!
YES. EFF. YES. But what does this mean!!??
DEPTFORD ARRRRRMMYYYY! Gig and 1992 Video Shoooot!
Firstly mahoooosive props to Tristan, Stephen, Riccardo and Fran - people that filmed shit, people that sorted shit, Anne-marie that lent us shit, people that listened to shit and made shit happen!!
The T's bowled up clad in full fur and bling attire for the tounge-in-cheek video shoot for funky number 1992! Then rocked the stage after calamity Kate and We Buy Gold had stoked the floor until the fire alarms were on cue! So much fun, went down a big treat and we even managed to get a police caution at 8am after a couple after parTies, ooops! The video will be gracing us in December - gunna be BIG ;)
Halloween Horror weekend gigs! Wooooooo
What a parTy weekend in the Too Many T's camp! Sat 29th saw one half of the duo take on The Green Room at Sheperds Bush as host for the Oxjam Takeover event - a great day, wicked people and banging acts! Highlights of the day must be the surprising voice of Rymza, the swagger of Kaya and the brilliance of Saint Saviour!
Sat night the boys had a live show with Oli D.A.B. at Buried in Brixton and maaaan did it go off! No costume, no entry was the policy so dressed up as The BeasTialiTy Boys (pics to follow) the boys took their blooded mugs down to the rave...and it went off!!! The old railway arches were hotter than a sauna and the crowd were exciteable as a pig on a planet of shit. Beatbox extraordanaire Pikey Esquire dropped in to blast out his usual basement breaking baselines and all in all the show could not have gone any better!
Monday 31st had Too Many T's at 333 Mother Bar in Londons trendy Shoreditch area. The walls were furry and the eyes were still blurry from the weekend but TMT still hit the set running like a bolt out the usain. The promoters absolutely loved the show and have the boys lined up for another show on December 5th.
Massive huge humongous big love to each and every person who came out to share the parTies! As always x

There’s a raT in my kitchen what am I gonna do!?
This week saw Hip Hop MC duo 'Too Many T's' grace the stage at the legendary Monto Water Rats in Kings Cross London for a special 30 minute one off showcase of their new material. Film crew in tow the boys tore up the place to a packed out crowd full of love and laughter! The new tunes went down a storm as the boys really showed off their skills with the rapid fire back to back lyrical interplay they’re fast becoming renowned for. The promoters have already booked them up for the next show on 18th November, 7pm @ The Bowery, central London. It’s an early show, the perfect warm up for the weekend so don’t miss that!
AAAAND
Too Many T’s continue forth and up North this weekend, supporting your neighbours favourite band Middleman @ The Hop in Wakefield on Friday night, then playing an exclusive show in Leeds on Saturday!
Come and enjoy the new set full of freshly cut tracks and wisecracks!
Peace, love and T’s x
End of summer parTy
OK so the event name wasn’t the greatest, but whether we like it or not the August bank holiday often means the end of summer is near (cue the sad emoticons)
But we weren’t gonna let that get us down! Hell no, we were on the up, on the way up North for a bank holiday sizzler at The Graziers! After the warmest of welcomings (thank you all!) we were live on stage and had the crowd warming up with every tasTy bounce and head nod. It was fill ya boots fun time and a fitting way to party the end of summer away, thank you to all those who came and partied with us! We love you lot and cant wait to come and play up North again soon! TMT x
First South London Show!
On Saturday we joined a few wicked bands to play the inspirationally titled 'Saturday night Music show' (haha) at the absolutley brilliant Cavendish Arms in Stockwell. And what a brilliant gig it was too! Think there was Too Many Vibes in the air, as we had a good old crowd intently watching, nodding and laughing along! Its wicked giving people a slice of fun and technical Hip-Hop, especially people that wouldn't usually listen to it!!
We tried to film this show for a promo ting - but the fooking camera packed in after 5 minutes, gutted cos it was a real good un!! Doh! Must. remember. to. charge. Battery. next. time.
Big Ups to Shazzy and scary Gery for coming to support AND the bands Konveyor, Cardinal Wino, Lost in Holborn and Night&Fog, who were full of lovely peeps!!
First North London Show! Camden!
Too many ts took a trip to North London on a wet wednesday night to support Sanai group and Drop Bear at the Enterprise. After a few technical hitches (legendary Cliff-the-soundman's heavy trigger finger and Leon only burning 12 seconds of one track to our set CD - which we somehow managed to cover up and make it part of the set!) we'd rapped up another stormer alongside the bass crunching beats of uk beatbox champ finalist Pikey Esquire!
Special thanks to the Peeps who came out to support, 'Symptomatic presents' for hosting us and frenchie Wax and Andy Hepburn for the photography and video!
I predict a... @ LeicesTer Carnival
Forget the riots in the (literally) Big Smoke, we had a riot this weekend in Leicester! Under the blazing sun we followed up the massive success of last weeks sell out RhubarBash with another stormer in the Midlands...BIG UPS to all who came and witnessed Too Many T’s tear the roof off! Probably the most varied crowd we’ve had, got our youngest and oldest fan in one day, 8 and 73 haha! The 73 year old even told us how to make proper Plum Jam! SweeeT!
New Tracks in the Oven!
So the lads are currently working tracks for the 'Too Many Remixes EP'. Expect remixes of an old favouite, an amazing track you've probably never heard and some up to the minute scorchers! Excitin'
GIGGING going down well!
Our second official show - at 'Rhurbarbash' - a mini one-day festival ting in Wakefield, went down splendidly! It seemed like a tough crowd at first, but we had them chuckling and listening before long - too many vibes! The response we got off stage to was wicked too, we even signed someones T-shirt! T-riffic! Haha!
